About
Alberto Puccini works as a Gastrointestinal Medical Oncologist at Humanitas Cancer Center in Milan since 2023 and as Assistant Professor at Humanitas University since June 2024. He completed his Medical Oncology Fellowship at the University of Genoa under the mentorship of Professor Alberto Sobrero in January 2023. His research training started during medical school through a dedicated research program at the University of Genoa and was further strengthened by a one-year postdoctoral fellowship in Professor Heinz-Josef Lenz’s laboratory at the Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, University of Southern California.
He is responsible of the clinical management of gastrointestinal cancers patients in particular, those with colorectal and esophago-gastric cancer. His research program focuses on translational research, integrating clinical trials with advanced molecular profiling approaches to develop clinically actionable biomarkers. He also contributes to investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored clinical trials as principal- or sub-investigator.
Dr. Puccini is a member of the Board of Directors of AIFET (Italian Association of Familial and Hereditary Tumors), of the AIOM (Italian Association of Medical Oncology) Young Oncologists Working Group, and of GONO GI. He also serves as Scientific Secretary for the AIOM National Guidelines on colorectal cancer and contributes to the AIOM National Guidelines on immune-related toxicities.
